Old Crow 10-plex and Health Services Center

Iresco worked on a 10-Unit Multiplex and Health Centre in the remote village of Old Crow.

Old Crow is a remote Indigenous community in Yukon, Canada, on the traditional lands of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. It lies at the confluence of the Crow and Porcupine Rivers, north of the Arctic Circle, and is the only Yukon community with no road access. Transportation is by air year-round; in summer by riverboat, and occasionally winter roads are built for certain needs.

Its population is small, around 230-300 people, mostly Vuntut Gwitchin people, who maintain a traditional lifestyle based on hunting, fishing, trapping, especially following the migration of the Porcupine Caribou Herd. The community mixes modern and ancestral practices, preserving Gwich’in culture, language, and land stewardship.
